Downloadable Brochure

As a graduate from the Bachelor of Physics you will be able to provide solutions to scientific and technological problems in national and international research centers as well as in the private sector; and to use current theoretical and experimental physics and mathematical modeling of nature to prepare numerical simulations with the determination and analysis of experimental data.

Once you have finished your study program, you will have a bachelor´s degree in addition to a licenciatura degree. Therefore, your studies will be recognized worldwide.

In addition to enhancing your entry skills, at the Licenciatura in Physics we propose to:

  • Train you to analyze theories to approach the physical phenomena and the scientific layout of the different areas in physics.
  • Teach you to express theoretical models in mathematical language.
  • Show you how to use different methodologies, modern lab equipment, and measurement instruments in the main areas of physics.
  • Show you how to apply physical methods of experimentation to specific problems, obtaining, selecting, and using data through modern technological equipment.
  • Teach you to integrate theoretical and practical information to solve problems in different fields of fundamental and applied physics.
  • Train you to handle deterministic and statistic mathematical models to solve physical and multidisciplinary problems.
  • Teach you to use a computer to create numerical simulations of physical processes.
  • Involve you in highly competitive teamwork during your studies.
  • Teach you to select, use, and obtain data through the use of modern technological equipment.
  • Encourage you to be part of your comprehensive development during your stay at UDLAP, by promoting participation in university life and multidisciplinary communication.
  • Has a high school education, preferably in science or engineering.
  • Likes science, specifically physics and math.
  • Is critical, analytical, and concise.
  • Is interested and enjoys the study and development of technology.
  • Is interested in conducting experiments.
  • Is curious, creative, and innovative.
  • Is ethical, responsible, organized, and determined.
  • Is eager to fully understand the causes and consequences of physical phenomena.
  • Has good study habits, loves reading and doing mathematical work.
  • Able to identify and describe, precisely and completely, the main theories of physics, including the laws of conservation, symmetry, scale analysis, and dimensions.
  • Can adequately design procedures and solve problems related to different areas in physics, using mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics, quantum mechanics, and special relativity formulas to define the microscopic/macroscopic properties of matter.
  • Able to develop experimental proposals to model behavior of physical systems, generating adequate methodologies based on the analysis of real physical parameters of systems, interpreting data, and valuing precision.
  • Precise and efficient in data collection and processing techniques for the experimental study of physical phenomena.
  • Competent to analyze, select, and use strategies and methods – including deterministic, stochastic, and quantic models – to solve physical problems, using partial differential equations and simulation algorithms.
  • Proficient in the use of new technologies, research techniques, and relevant data search in his/her projects.
