Information Technologies at Universidad de las Américas, Puebla is a strategic area providing technology, tools and resources to support and enrich teaching, learning, research as well as provide administration services. The appropriate employment of Information Technologies makes it possible to generate limitless opportunities, make full use of existing resources, break geographic barriers and access information from any geographical point.
The Office of Information Technologies seeks to provide the University community with the best tools that contribute to and complement academic development. The IT experts work tirelessly to provide those services and cutting age tools that allow the classroom to extend beyond its walls, and have mobile students with access to learning resources and tools from any place with Internet access. The classroom, the student union, the university grounds, your home, a restaurant or a coffee shop are always good places to learn
The Computer Center represents the heart of systems on our university. It is the place where critical information is safe, backed up by high technology equipment. This equipment allows us to guarantee the continuous operation of academic and administrative systems in our university while preparing for greater growth in the coming years. The Computer Center complies with the highest international standards that includes redundancy in its electrical installations, equipment and information storage. The Computer Center staff works to ensure continuous functioning of all computer services and systems.

It is an online suite of services and applications for educational purposes. Windows Live services and programs allow students, faculty and employees to communicate, collaborate, store information and make use of innovative tools that will enrich your educational experience.

The purposes of these strategic alliances are:
- Gain access to leading software in the market, used by prestigious domestic and international companies and organizations. Distinguish UDLAP from other universities by having certified knowledge on information systems and tools used in businesses today.
- Promote activities that allow the students to form a foundation to start their own consulting business, develop software and software services.
UDLAP offers Service Desk services, a help desk for different members of the University community that needs assistance in Information Technologies. The Service Desk provides the support necessary to solve problems or to channel the problem to the pertinent area.

Printing services are available throughout campus (in computer labs, residential colleges, the library, student union and administrative offices). Some student printing services are available 24/7. Users may make color and black-and-white printouts from any UDLAP computer or from your own personal computer (which can be configured for printing).
UDLAP provides a new way to navigate the Internet safely.
If you don't have up-to-date antivirus software, you can use UDLAP's online antivirus service, which includes antivirus and anti-spyware. To obtain this protection, follow these steps:
- Check your computer to verify that it complies with the following minimum requirements.
- Enter UDLAP’s online antivirus service page.
- Download the software.
- Keep these service page open while you navigate.
Restrictions:
The online antivirus service is only available through the institutional network. At this time only computers with the Microsoft Windows operating system may access this service.

The collaboration portals are an Internet tool used by the academic and administrative areas to share information and work collaboratively. Faculty have a space for each one of their classes where they can upload instructional material, generate and maintain discussion forums and share important files for the community. The published material is not exclusive to professors: any member of the team can contribute useful content for everybody. The service is integrated seamlessly with other IT services such as instant messaging, e-mail, computer labs and Internet.
Wireless network services are available across campus, which means any member of the University community can access different online services from any point on campus. At this time there are close to 200 Access Points available in classrooms, the library, the student union, on the campus grounds, and in the residential colleges and administrative offices.
The mission of the computer labs is to provide members of the UDLAP community access to high quality, technologically-advanced environments in order to pursue academic endeavors through multiple services and technical advising. Currently UDLAP has three macro computer labs located in the Engineering, Business and Humanities buildings, and close to 30 computer labs located throughout campus and in the Residential Colleges.
UDLAP offers videoconferencing services to connect you to people located far away. Videoconferencing is a useful tool for remote conferencing, inviting professors and researchers from any parts of the world. You can invite experts on specific topics who can complement and enrich courses, support research projects as well as offer dual courses through team teaching. You can also simply hold class when students or the professors are far away from each other.
